After reading both blog posts (Evans and Anatoli's) I think that Evans was just easier to understand what he was talking about.

This leads me to believe that Evan is a more organized thinker of the two, and that maybe he's right with his argument. (But I can't tell for sure because I don't understand what Anatoli said in the first place...)

But basically I think it comes down to spaghetti code is spaghetti code no matter what the language...

Hi Evan - nice post, you've certainly helped me clarify some issues in my own mind. I think what this points up is that many of these problems are to do with how the developer approaches the task, not the underlying technology. I especially like your modular approach. I'm also slightly dubious about theoretical arguments about how the structure of css files may or may not affect rendering time. Show me some thorough tests with real data and I might be a bit more interested.

My background in CSS and Sass is theoretical. I've read, seen screencasts and taken in several on-line instructional lectures. I'm taking my first steps in practical implementation. From my in-depth reading of many blogs on the topic (and I've read quite a few), I'd like to hand it to you, Evan. This is the clincher. I'll sweat through the initial difficulties involved, but stick with Sass, come you-know-what or high water. Thanks

No worries; to each their own, and it's true that I have not had to deal with the same issues you have (for example, I haven't inherited anyone else's Sass projects, just had to maintain my own).

Thanks for coming over here to comment.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. I'll just conclude with what I said on my blog, as I've now moved on from the topic and don't feel like particularly debating it in more detail.

> With that said, if there's anything I learnt in this debate, it's that perhaps my issues had as much to do with the job I was doing and the time constraints it presented, as they did with the language I was using.
